  • Outdoor Preparedness

  • Self-Defense

  • Environmental literacy

Set in the majestic Canadian WILDERNESS north of the Gatineau Hills, the SAFE and secure Cushing Family Nature Preserve is the backdrop for a LEARNING opportunity that will build your CONFIDENCE and give you SKILLS that prepare you both emotionally and physically for any CHALLENGE you may face in your life.

You’ll learn

  • things about yourself that will forever alter the course of your life.

  • just how strong you really are.

  • problem-solving skills to seek solutions in any situation.

  • from caring, capable instructors who will make you feel like part of the family while helping you to be your very best.

At the end of the day, you’ll join your fellow participants around the Cushing FAMILY dinner table to share a HEARTY, home-cooked meal while discussing your ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME adventures and creating lasting, MEANINGFUL connections.

  • The goal of environmental education is to develop a world population that is aware of and concerned about, the environment and its associated problems, and which has the knowledge, skills, attitudes, motivations, and commitment to work individually and collectively toward solutions of current problems and the prevention of new ones.

    UNESCO 1976: 1

  • We help individuals connect to nature while acquiring skills that serve people, animals and the environment.

Women’s Winter Empowerment Gap

You’ll be taught the RECIPROCAL relationship between PEOPLE and the ENVIRONEMENT and given the SKILLS to survive and THRIVE in any situation, but what you’ll learn is WHO you are.

What Alumni Are Saying

“Earth Studies is an incredible and unique place that will teach you things you've never imagined that you'd be able to learn, it will challenge you to develop, give you wonderful memories, and inspire you to grow. My time at Earth Studies has shown me the importance of a human connection to Mother Earth and given me opportunities for a deep connection with animals that's impossible to find anywhere else.”

— Nora Holmes

“No matter whether I was cleaning kennels or mucking the stables, I had a purpose. Everything I did was valued, and everything I did was fun. It was easy to identify how much progress I was making with these twenty incredible dogs because I was able to tell all of them apart, and they started responding to my cues and body language.”
